Mr. Ayobami Suberu, Ogun State Branch Controller of WAEC, has vehemently denied allegations of withheld results due to Ogun State Government's indebtedness. He described the online report as "grossly misleading" and "unprofessional" during a press briefing on Tuesday.
Suberu clarified that the affected students' results were pending due to a technical glitch, which is being urgently addressed. He assured that the results would be released by the end of the day, following ongoing communication with the Council's Test Administration Division.
Suberu emphasized, "Ogun State has no outstanding debts to WAEC. A senior education ministry official has already been briefed on this matter, and I must stress that the report's claims are entirely unfounded and malicious." He criticized the reporter's failure to seek WAEC's perspective, stating, "Such unethical journalism can cause unnecessary panic."
