Members of the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria paid a condolence visit to the Archbishop of the Metropolitan City of Benin, Most Reverend Dr. Augustin O.B. Ku, following the demise of Archbishop Patrick Ekpu.
The delegation, led by Board of Trustees Secretary General, Dr. Comfort Omar-Irabor, expressed sadness over the loss of Archbishop Ekpu, describing him as an epitome of humility.
"We are here to condole with our Archbishop on the demise of Archbishop Emeritus Patrick Ekpu," Dr. Omar-Irabor said. Archbishop Ku, in his response, commended the delegation for their visit and urged Catholic parishioners to emulate the virtues and exemplary lifestyle of the late Archbishop Ekpu.
"Everyone must leave the planet Earth one day to meet their maker... He lived an exemplary life, which we will all emulate. He was a simple, humble, and dedicated person," Archbishop Ku said.
Archbishop Patrick Ekpu, the Meritus Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The Catholic Women Organization's visit was a testament to the impact of his life and legacy on the community.
