Two suspected kidnappers, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command and led officers to a shallow grave where they buried their victims after collecting ransom.
Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, stating that Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu led the operation to Ijebu Igbo. The arrest of the two suspects followed a technical investigation by the anti-kidnapping squad team, who discovered their hideout in Ijebu-Igbo at about 6:20 pm on June 28, 2024.
Odutola said, "CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha led the operations to Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State, where victims' corpses were exhumed from a shallow grave and two suspects, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, were arrested."
The suspects will be charged in court once investigations are completed, and a manhunt for the remaining members of the seven-man gang is ongoing.
