In the wake of last Saturday's All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Edo State, the state chapter of the APC Renewed Hope Coalition has made a public appeal. The coalition has called on all aspirants who participated in the exercise to unite and support the candidature of Honourable Dennis Idahosa.
The chairman of the group, Steven Jim, made this call during a press briefing in Benin City on Monday. He emphasised that there is no division within the party in the state and stressed the importance of all party members rallying around the winner.
According to him, it is only when members of the party and other aspirants rally around the winner of the primary that victory can be guaranteed at the upcoming September 21 governorship election.
Jim said: “It is a known fact that Edo State is APC, and APC is Edo State. We will do all it takes to take back our state. In order to achieve this, we must speak with one voice and support our governorship candidate, the Honourable Dennis Idahosa."
He further highlighted that the emergence of Dennis Idahosa as the winner of the primary in Edo State is a testament to the APC’s commitment to promoting excellence and competence in governance. He praised the party for its dedication to selecting candidates based on their qualifications, vision, and ability to serve the people effectively, as well as prioritising the choice of the people.
Jim also commended the governorship primary electoral committee led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the National Working Committee for their unwavering commitment to upholding the democratic ideals upon which the nation was founded.
