This plea was made at the Arewa House in Kaduna during the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund event held on Wednesday.
Governor Sani highlighted the long-standing service of the armed forces to the people, dating back to the colonial era. He emphasised that numerous officers and soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of peace for the country.
He stated, "Our departed heroes left behind wives and children that must be taken care of by not only the government but also the corporate entities and good-spirited people.
He stressed the importance of remembering the gallantry of these heroes, who continue to combat bandits, insurgents, and other criminal elements. Despite the significant challenges faced, the governor acknowledged the accomplishments of the military services.
Governor Sani also offered prayers for those who lost their lives in the tragic Tudun Biri bombing incident, expressing his hope for the peaceful repose of their souls.
