In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onogwu Mohammed, on Friday in Lokoja, Governor Bello shared that he was deeply saddened by the news of Ezeife's passing. Ezeife, a former governor of Anambra and a respected elder statesman left a significant void with his departure.
Governor Bello also extended his sympathies to the family members of the deceased, characterising Ezeife's death as a monumental loss.
He paid tribute to Ezeife, affectionately known as 'Okwadike', describing him as a revered leader, an exceptional statesman, a wise advisor, and a bridge builder. He acknowledged that Ezeife's contributions to Nigeria's political scene would leave a lasting imprint on the nation's history.
Governor Bello said, "Chief Ezeife was a man of immense wisdom and integrity; his passion for Nigeria’s unity and his dedication to good governance were exemplary. The former governor served Anambra and the nation with distinction and provided impactful leadership that will continue to inspire long after now."
He fondly recalled his interaction with Chief Ezeife in 2021, during which the elder statesman praised his political path. Ezeife described him as a young, energetic, and ambitious politician who bravely faces challenges, stands firm in his beliefs, and remains steadfast in his aspirations.
