The patrol team recovered a bag containing 250 rounds of live cartridges, which were skillfully concealed. The operation took place on 3rd August 2023.
A 46-year-old male suspect, identified as Omoruyi Osemudiame, was apprehended as the owner of the bag carrying the illegal live cartridges.
The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Wale Abass, confirmed the incident in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
The interception took place when the police conducted a search on a commercial Sienna vehicle and thoroughly examined the passengers and their belongings.
During this search, they uncovered the stash of 250 live cartridges hidden inside the bag owned by the suspect, Omoruyi Osemudiame.
Following the discovery, Omoruyi Osemudiame was immediately taken into custody by the police.
