The remains to be buried were collected from various locations other than the Lekki tollgate, Lagos state government breaks its silence
The Lagos state administration has responded to claims that it has sanctioned N61 million for the mass burial of victims retrieved during the crisis that erupted during the EndSARS demonstration on October 20, 2020.
A letter sanctioning the money for the mass burial was circulated on social media earlier today, July 23, by the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency to the state Ministry of Health. Some Nigerians chastised the state administration for approving the funds while claiming that no one died at the Lekki tollgate during the crisis.
In response to the outcry, the state government in a statement released, said the bodies to be buried were retrieved from other parts of the state and not from Lekki tollgate. The state government insists nobody was k!lled at the Lekki tollgate.
