ANAN President praises Gombe State's exemplary resource management
Gombe State has been recognised as one of Nigeria's best states in terms of prudent resource management, according to the President of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Dr James Neminebor.

During a visit to Governor Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe, Dr Neminebor commended the state for its impressive development and highlighted the improvements made since his last visit in 2018, particularly in terms of infrastructure and overall development indices.

Expressing his astonishment, Dr Neminebor remarked, "My coming this time, I thought I was in some unique French West African countries until I was told I am in Gombe State." He attributed the state's success to Governor Yahaya's professional experience and his effective efforts to address the challenges faced by Gombe State.

Dr Neminebor praised the state government, under Yahaya's leadership, for effectively harnessing human, material, and financial resources to foster development and improve the well-being of the people.

"You have really proved yourself that you are a true accountant, and we do appreciate you," Dr Neminebor commended Governor Yahaya. He further expressed his admiration for the state and stated, "If I am given a chance to showcase this state, let the whole country come; I think it is a unique thing you have done, and the state is one of the best in the country."

The visit of ANAN's national executives to Gombe State served the purpose of re-enlightening their members on ethics and modern developments in the accountancy profession. The event, which marked the third session of the year, spanned three days, with the opening ceremony scheduled for the following day.

Governor Yahaya warmly welcomed the members of the professional body to Gombe State and assured them of a peaceful stay during their visit. He attributed the state's progress to the prudent utilisation of resources and his administration's commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people.

Governor Yahaya emphasised that the state would continue to thrive, promising that the next visit, even if it occurred in six months, would reveal a Gombe State that is better than its current state.

Acknowledging the contributions of ANAN and its members to the management of Gombe State's limited resources, Governor Yahaya stated, "Many indices have been put in place, and Gombe always comes amongst the first 10 states, in spite of the fact that it earns second to the least on the revenue table."

He credited the achievements to the prudence and positive thinking of the team, which includes numerous accountants trained by ANAN.

Governor Yahaya reiterated his administration's commitment to developing and improving the lives of citizens. He commended ANAN for continuously enhancing the capabilities of financial managers, as Gombe State has greatly benefited from their prudent management of scarce resources.

While recognising ANAN's contributions to the country's development, Governor Yahaya urged the members to continue generating initiatives that would help improve Nigeria's economy.
