M.K.O. Abiola's Family Urges President Tinubu for Entitlements
The family of the late M.K.O. Abiola, through their Secretary Ameen Abiola, has expressed their expectation that President Bola Tinubu will fulfill the payment of the presidential entitlements owed to their deceased relative. Ameen made this statement during a press briefing held on Monday at the M.K.O. Abiola family residence in Gbagura, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

It should be noted that former President Muhammadu Buhari posthumously honored M.K.O. Abiola with Nigeria's highest honor, the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR). Abiola, a renowned businessman, had emerged as the winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, which was widely regarded as a watershed moment in Nigeria's democratic history.

Beyond the payment of the presidential entitlements, the Abiola family also expressed their desire to see the government fulfill the promises that Abiola made to the Nigerian people during his lifetime. Ameen emphasized their belief that the current administration would ensure that all the incentives and benefits due to the Abiola family are delivered accordingly.

Ameen stated, "This government has the capacity to ensure that all incentives that are due to the Abiola family get to us. I believe this government would do everything to make sure that we get what we should have gotten from the previous government."

In support of the family's stance, Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by his Deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele, lauded M.K.O. Abiola for living a life worthy of emulation. The governor urged Nigerians to learn from Abiola's good deeds, highlighting his consistent adherence to the principles of God in all his endeavors.

As the Abiola family awaits President Tinubu's response and action on the matter, their expectation remains steadfast in receiving the rightful entitlements and seeing Abiola's promises to Nigerians fulfilled.
