Kwankwaso asserted that Ganduje was one of his political protégés and would not dare to confront him directly.
During separate visits to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday, Kwankwaso and Ganduje engaged with journalists. Ganduje, in his remarks, stated that he would have slapped his former boss if given the chance at the Villa.
In response, Kwankwaso confidently declared in an interview with BBC Hausa, "I heard that he [Ganduje] said he would've slapped me, but I'm here. He was just confused. These are all my boys politically. They can't even look at me straight in the face if we meet."
Kwankwaso also confirmed that he was in discussions with President Tinubu regarding potential involvement in his government. He revealed that President Tinubu had offered him a position, but they have not reached a definitive conclusion yet.
"We have discussed collaboration; however, a definitive decision is pending. After the inauguration of the National Assembly, we will determine the best course of action," Kwankwaso explained.
He emphasised that the position offered by Tinubu was subject to mutual consultation and did not imply that he would defect from the NNPP. Kwankwaso stated that within two weeks, they would publicly announce their decision.
Regarding the demolition in Kano, Kwankwaso stated that he briefed President Tinubu, and there was a mutual understanding between them. He expressed satisfaction with the measures put in place by the Kano government, and Tinubu was pleased with the information provided, as it contradicted false reports.
During their discussion, Kwankwaso informed Tinubu about the lands sold by the Ganduje administration to the public. He revealed, "During our discussion, he (Tinubu) seemed astonished and was speechless at the information conveyed to him.
We unequivocally prohibit any governor, irrespective of who they are, including Ganduje or Abba, from constructing on sites designated for mosques, schools, or other similar purposes. We will inform them that it is unacceptable."
The collaboration between Kwankwaso and Tinubu, as well as the resolution of the Kano land issue, awaits further developments, which will be announced in due course.
