The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the victims were attacked while returning home after work. Onome Ono, the Police Public Relations Officer, explained that the shots were fired by Oshinkwo Warriors in the Abaomege-Oshinkwo communal crisis area.
The injured victims were rushed to the hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead. The injured police officer is currently receiving treatment and is in stable condition.
