Mr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the APC National Vice Chairman (South East), made this assurance during the opening of the new APC State Secretariat in Enugu.
In response to concerns about the exclusion of Igbos in recent appointments by President Bola Tinubu, Arodiogbu stated that many Igbos would still be appointed to strategic positions.
He revealed ongoing consultations between South East leaders and the national party leadership to ensure that the region is not left out in the appointment of political and security chiefs.
Arodiogbu encouraged the people of the South East to embrace the APC, emphasising that their participation in the central government would attract more infrastructural projects to the region. He called on Igbos to support President Tinubu's administration, assuring them that their interests would be safeguarded.
Princess Ada Ogbu, the APC senatorial candidate for Enugu-East in the upcoming 2023 election, urged aggrieved APC members in the state to unite and work together for the progress of the party.
Ogbu acknowledged that internal conflicts within Enugu APC had contributed to the party's poor performance in the presidential and governorship elections. She emphasised the importance of unity within the party.
Chief Uche Nnaji, the APC governorship candidate, announced that efforts were underway to challenge the election results at the tribunal, expressing confidence in the recovery of the alleged stolen mandate.
Nnaji emphasised that the party would not permit any individual to exploit or manipulate its resources for personal gain. He regarded the state's APC as a continuous work in progress.
Furthermore, Nnaji declared that the party in the state would prevent the appointment of individuals unknown to the party into federal positions, marking an end to such occurrences.
The APC governorship candidate commended Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, the APC State Chairman, for securing a well-equipped state secretariat to coordinate party activities.
The APC's commitment to equitable political appointments and the pursuit of unity within its ranks in Enugu state highlights its determination to foster inclusivity and strengthen its position in the South East region.
