Mittal emphasised the importance of these investments, particularly in expanding the 5G network and infrastructure. He stated, "To roll and experience the 5G and more fibre into the ground and data centres will require $700 more million in order to achieve that, so $400 million is what we generally invest every year but with 5G, the investment is only going to go up for the next two or three years before it comes back to what it used to be."
The Chairman of Barthi Airtel expressed optimism about Nigeria's future, citing the country's large population of young and energetic individuals. He stated, "I can tell you, this country has a tremendous future; with 220 million young and energetic people, and in the next 10 years, the country will be the 3rd largest in the world." Mittal also commended the steps taken by the Bola Tinubu administration, such as floating the naira and removing fuel subsidies, as well as improvements in oil production, which he believes will contribute to a glorious future for Nigeria.
The investment by Barthi Airtel reflects the company's long-term commitment to Nigeria's telecommunications sector. With the planned investment for 5G network expansion, the company aims to provide enhanced connectivity and improved services to meet the growing demands of Nigerian consumers.
