Rahman Adedoyin, the founder of Oduduwa University, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Oyebola Ojo. This was due to his involvement in the ritual killing of Timothy Adegoke, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, for which he and his associates were found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful killing by the Osogbo division of the state high court. Adegoke was killed in November 2022, while staying at Adedoyin's Hilton Hotel and Resort to take his exams at the nearby OAU distance learning center in Moro, Osun. Following a police investigation, Adedoyin and his associates were charged on 11-count of murder, conspiracy, attempted felony, unlawful interference with a dead body, altering and intent to destroy evidence after the mutilated body of the victim was discovered buried in a shallow grave close to the hotel.
