Comedian Bovi wades into Basketmouth, AY feud

In the Nigerian entertainment industry, a rift between comedians Basketmouth and AY has been reignited. In a recent interview, AY revealed that their friendship ended over a fee of N30,000. Basketmouth later responded by stating that they were never friends and that he has no pictures with AY. However, their colleague Bovi reposted an old photo of Basketmouth with AY to counter his claim.

AY narrated how he was asked to stand in for Basketmouth at a gig for the usual fee of N30,000, which was everything to him at the time. He later discovered that the person who engaged him had not paid the fee. Basketmouth, in response, claimed that they were never friends and that he has never hung out with AY or taken a picture with him.

Bovi, on the other hand, took to his Instagram account to repost an old photo of Basketmouth with AY from 2004, with the caption, “This is Basketmouth and a fan! 2004! AY no vex o! Before you go call Chude for me!” This move by Bovi indicates that there might be more to the story than what has been revealed. It is yet to be seen if the trio will resolve their differences or if this rift will continue.
