In Delta, the PDP candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, emerged as the winner with 360,234 votes, while Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC secured 240,229 votes. The Labour Party candidate, Ken Pella, came third with 48,047 votes. The results were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.
The PDP’s victory in Delta is a continuation of its control of the state, where it has been in power since 1999. In Plateau, however, the PDP’s victory marks a significant shift in power as the APC had held the governorship position since 2015.
