Real Madrid thrash Liverpool at Anfield

Liverpool must work extremely hard if they are to maintain their chances of winning the Champions League after Real Madrid destroyed them at Anfield.

Holders Even though Liverpool scored two goals first at Anfield, Real, who defeated Liverpool in last year's final in Paris, was the first side in Europe to score five goals.

Liverpool took the lead after just four minutes thanks to a stunning flick from Darwin Nunez. Ten minutes later, Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool's lead by taking advantage of a mistake by Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The commotion during the 2017 season final was incorrectly attributed to Liverpool's supporters, who were upset about this. They booed loudly during the Champions League anthem and waved a flag that read, "UEFA LIARS." Their raucous revelry came to an abrupt stop in a very evident manner not long after.

A fantastic goal was scored by Vinicius Junior in the 21st minute. Next, Liverpool's Alisson imitated Courtois by hacking a clearing directly in the Brazilian's direction. As the ball went behind him and into the goal in front of a dumbfounded Kop, he gripped his head in pain.

It altered the game's overall atmosphere. Real took the lead two minutes after the half when Eder Militao headed in a free kick from Luka Modric.

As Karim Benzema's shot struck Joe Gomez and went in, Real demonstrated how much superior they had become. After more outstanding work by the ageless Modric, the French attacker added a fifth goal.

Liverpool has made some impressive comebacks in the past, but if they could do it at the Bernabeu, it would be absolutely exceptional.
