According to Prime 9ja Online, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has ordered its members to halt all operations nationwide.
The marketers were also instructed to stop paying for product orders from the source until further notice, according to a statement signed on Tuesday by Mohammed Kuluwu, the association's chairman.
"The critical situation as it affects our sourcing and selling of product at lost and the action of the authority to impose the selling of product at a lost price on our side," the association claimed as the reason for the decision.
The group had previously requested extra time from the Federal Government in order to continue selling Premium Motor Spirits at the set price of N195 per litre, according to Prime 9ja Online.
