Gbajabiamila urges avoidance of actions that threaten democracy
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has called on all political actors and stakeholders in the ongoing electoral process to be mindful of their actions and utterances to prevent potential harm to the country's democracy. Gbajabiamila made this plea during his address on Tuesday, as the House resumed its election recess.

He urged those who are dissatisfied with the election results to follow the appropriate legal procedures in seeking redress, instead of resorting to actions that could threaten the country's democratic process. Gbajabiamila emphasized that the constitution of the republic and the Electoral Act provide a framework for post-election dispute resolution and adjudication, which is meant to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria's elections.

In his speech, Gbajabiamila stressed that everyone has a role to play in protecting the country's democracy and ensuring the success of the electoral process. He called on politicians, the media, and civil society organizations to act responsibly and play their part in maintaining peace and stability during the ongoing electoral process. Gbajabiamila warned that any action that could undermine the credibility of the electoral process would be detrimental to the country's future.
