Ibrahim Ismaila, a 25-year-old bricklayer accused of raping a 15-year-old girl, was remanded in custody on Wednesday by a magistrates' court in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Ismaila was placed on remand together with Abdulrasheed Yusuf, who was accused of negligence.
A police report states that Ismaila stopped the girl as she was leaving school and forced her inside an unfinished structure where he forcibly had sex with her.
In an ex parte application, the prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, asked the court to remand the defendant.
The prosecutor's request was granted, and Magistrate Mohammed Dasuki ruled that the defendant and his supervisor should be remanded.
The hearing in the case was postponed until February 21, 2023.
