Akeredolu reassured the people that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would perform its duties diligently and that their votes would count. He emphasized that the peaceful conduct of the election was an indication of the state's commitment to democracy.
The governor further called on the opposition parties to desist from making inflammatory statements that could incite violence and disrupt the peace of the state. He urged them to explore legal means to address any grievances they may have.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security during and after the election. In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph, the command urged the people to report any suspicious activities to the police.
