2023 Election: Voting Underway in Nyanya Polling Units

Voters' turnout, especially among youths, has been massive in polling units in the Nyanya axis of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as accreditation and voting commenced at exactly 9:20am. The inspection of the functionality of the election materials, including the BVAs, by party agents was carried out before the exercise began. The seamless accreditation and voting process was facilitated by the BVAs at the polling units in Nyanya.

NAN reports that food vendors and water sellers made brisk businesses, as skeletal economic activities were carried out. While some underage youths and teenagers were seen playing football on the streets, vehicular movement was restricted by security agents.

According to some eligible voters, they showed up at their polling units as early as 7:00 am. Security agencies were seen on the ground at most polling units in Nyanya while voters checked their names on the INEC voters’ register. To ensure orderliness, some security officers gave numbers to voters.
