According to the new statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in Katsina State, Gambo Isah, the arrested party agents were not planning to hack into the INEC portal but to set up an election situation room for their party. They were using a computer application software to collate election results through their party agents.
Isah further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kolo Yusuf, assures members of the public that the Command is on top of the situation and in synergy with other sister agencies. He also assured the public that water-tight security measures had been put in place at all registration area centres (RACs), polling centers, and units.
The police urged all eligible voters to go out and cast their votes without any fear of attack or molestation. The clarification from the Katsina State Police Command should ease concerns about potential electoral malpractices in the forthcoming elections.
