The presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has called the two major political parties in the nation "total failures" that Nigerians should vote against, despite the fact that he once belonged to both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he served as Governor of Kano State, Senator, and Minister for two terms.
Therefore, he cautioned Nigerians not to take a chance by voting for either of the two major parties, particularly the APC, which is now in power.
At the party's North-East Zonal Presidential rally on Thursday in Bauchi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso urged Nigerians to vote out the "APC and PDP that have misruled the country for over two decades."
“Let me use this opportunity to tell the people of North East and Nigeria that our party, the NNPP has come to age today, we are in all the wards of this country,” he declared.
After stating that the PDP and APC, the two parties that have dominated Nigeria for the past 24 years, had failed the country miserably, the NNPP presidential candidate asked NNPP followers to strive for the party’s successful outing in the following February and March general elections.
“They have failed the country in terms of Security, in terms of economy, in terms of infrastructure and of course, even in terms of unity among Nigerians”, he stated.
To paraphrase, he said, “the NNPP is the only answer to the myriads of challenges bedevilling the country as a result of leadership failure that has been witnessed within the period under review.”
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso claims that in the next 2023 general elections, his party, the NNPP, will face off against candidates from a wide range of other political parties thanks to the enormous number of candidates the INEC has approved.
The NNPP presidential candidate was happy that most Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, support the party. He also said that Nigerians have realised that the NNPP is the only growing political party in the country.
He then said, “Thank you, Bauchi. You brought out your historic political spirit to the fore today. We shall go ahead together in our collective endeavour to Rebirth a New Nigeria.”
