Murray, Djokovic disappointed with Australian Open schedule

The "disrespectful" and "gruelling" Australian Open schedule was criticised by the British Andy Murray and the Serbian Novak Djokovic, who also called for modifications for the upcoming championship.

The five hours and 45 minutes-long match, in which Murray defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis despite trailing by two sets and a break, ended at 4.05 am on Friday. As he walked away, the sun was almost rising.

Murray played on the court for more than 14 hours, which is longer than other athletes have required to win a Grand Slam trophy.

This includes both his similarly drawn-out victory over Matteo Berrettini and his Saturday defeat to Roberto Bautista Agut, which lasted three hours and 29 minutes.

Absolutely, that is a joke. You're also aware of it. We are not allowed to use the lavatory because it is insulting to you, the ball kids, the players, and everyone else. Ridiculous!,” By Murray
