A man who travelled home for Christmas and was thought to be on vacation was killed in Anambra State
On Umunze Road in the Nawfija neighbourhood, the man's red Toyota Camry had been abandoned.
Those Nawfija residents who came across him were astonished by what had occurred.
The man only recently returned for the holidays, according to the narrator of a video that can be viewed online.
The vehicle was found nearby Umunze Road, and the person was taken to the mortuary after a doctor declared him dead, according to the State police command, which confirmed the incident.
According to DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the State Police Command's spokesman, Udoka Eze was identified as the person through their inquiries.
Ikenga said: “Today, 04/1/2023, police recovered an abandoned red Toyota Camry vehicle with reg No AGL 525 GA found along Umunze road.
“Immediate search was conducted in the vehicle, and the lifeless body of a young man with marks of violence and suspected gunshot injury was found in the car.
“Further inquiries revealed that the victim is one Mr Udoka Eze ‘M’, aged 50yrs, from Iyiafor Village, Owerezukala. When taken to the hospital, he was confirmed dead by a doctor, and the body was deposited at the mortuary. An investigation has since commenced.
“The Command wants to use this opportunity to call on the witnesses of this incident to come forward with information that will assist in the ongoing investigation and patrols have been intensified in the area.”
Since the holiday season ended, there has been a rise in violent crime in Anambra State. Several lives have been lost.
