Yinka Ayefele, a Nigerian gospel singer, has celebrated the 25th anniversary of his car accident survival.
The 54-year-old shared throwback photos of his badly damaged Volkswagen Beetle as a result of the accident that left him confined to a wheelchair on his Instagram page.
He thanked God and encouraged his fans to do the same on his behalf.
"It was exactly 25 years ago today," he wrote. Just keep thanking God for me... It happened on December 12, 1997.
"My Turing point...I will be eternally grateful to the mastermind of my fate."
Ayefele briefly worked as a journalist and broadcaster at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria in Ibadan, where he also created radio jingles and musical works.
In 1997, he began his musical career after he was involved in an automobile accident that damaged his spinal cord and made him dependent on a wheelchair.
