The suspect was apprehended, according to the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Abolurin Oluwaseun, after careful investigation and the Command's staff obtained reliable and useful intelligence.
Initial investigations revealed that the culprit took the 15-year-old girl into an unfinished building where he often had sex with her around two years prior, in the year 2020. He then proceeded to try to have sex with her again in October of the following year, 2022, but was caught.
"The Anti-human and Gender Unit, of the Command, was able to partner with Women Against Rape International Foundation (WARIF) to conduct medical examination on the victim, in a bid to intensify investigations, bring the culprit to book, and teach other unrepentant perpetrators of this heinous and highly abominable crime," Oluwaseun said.
The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps (CC) Edenabu Okoro Eweka, disapproved of the impure sexual activity and commanded that the suspected culprit be turned over to the relevant government agency for additional investigation and legal prosecution.
