In a statement released on Saturday in Jos to celebrate the President's 80th birthday, the chairman of the forum and governor of the Plateau, Simon Lalong, paid tribute to the President.
He stated, "The president has lived a life of sacrifice, duty, and patriotism from his days in the military and even now when he is burdened with the responsibility of administering the country under a democracy."
The chairman referred to the president as a father figure who has favourably impacted Nigerians' lives on a large scale.
The forum is proud of the President's accomplishments, adding that his historical initiatives and programmes have altered the course of Nigeria's growth.
He praised the president's support for the forum's efforts to solve some of the numerous difficulties facing the area, including infrastructure, security, agriculture, and health, among other things.
“The president has given a good account of his mandate and will leave a legacy of impact seen in various sectors of the Nigerian economy.
“While wishing him many more years ahead, the Northern Governors Forum prayed to God to grant the president good health, God’s protection and divine protection,” he said.
