Four students, said to be returning home for the holidays, were reportedly abducted by suspected gunmen along the Akunnu-Ajowa road in Ondo state's Akoko area.
The Kogi State Polytechnic students were allegedly ambushed on Friday at Ago Jinadu Axis in Akoko, which is notorious for crime, particularly kidnapping.
As a result, gear has gripped the residents of Ajowa and its environs.
When contacted, ACP Muri Agboola, the Police Area Commander in lkare, stated that his men have been combing forests along the Akunnu-Ajowa Akoko road in search of the abducted students.
Funmi Odunlami, the state police command's spokesperson, could not be reached for comment.
