Ifeanyi Ibegbunam, aka Fecko, emerges the first Nigerian rapper to perform in the metaverse after winning season one of The Mic Africa.
MTN hosted an Africa-first virtual concert in Ubuntuland, Africa's metaverse, on November 30, 2022, in collaboration with The Mic Africa.
Fecko was one of six other talented African artists who performed in AltMTN, making him the first Nigerian rapper to do so.
Derrick Ashong, the founder of Take Back the Mic, introduced Fecko to the audience as a multi-talented artiste skilled in graphic design, animation, and technology.
Fecko performed some of his classic hit songs, including "Finally" and "Work Chop," produced by Teck-Zilla and featuring Villy and Yung Pabi from Ghana.
The artist expressed his delight, saying: “It just dawned on me that I’m actually the first Nigerian rapper to perform in the African MetaVerse.”
“Doing a concert in the Metaverse is a really cool and innovative way to showcase your music to a wider audience. It has a wide array of opportunities for creatives, especially those in the music industry.”
