Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello has wished Christians a Merry Christmas in 2022.
The arrival of hope for humanity was symbolised by the Christmas season, according to a statement released on Sunday in Lokoja by the governor's Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
Mr Bello exhorted people to maintain optimism and the conviction that the current misery, which had continued around the globe and was being felt particularly keenly in Nigeria, would soon pass.
He enjoined people to imitate God's love for humanity by showing it to their neighbours this season by performing an act of generosity towards the less fortunate.
The governor declared that the holiday was ideal for spending time with loved ones, including family and friends.
He urged Nigerians to ponder spiritually and to pray for the peace, harmony, and development of their beloved nation.
Mr Bello urged each and every registered voter in Kogi and throughout Nigeria to get their PVCs and cast their ballots when it was time to.
He claimed that Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, the APC's presidential ticket, offered the best chance for the country to experience new hope and a society that works for all.
According to the governor, casting a ballot for the candidate of one's choice is still a civic obligation that must be taken seriously.
Mr Bello asked the populace to enjoy Christmas in 2022 without worry since the state has put in place top-notch security measures to ensure their protection.
