Fancy Acholonu, who was once engaged to renowned actor Alexx Ekubo, has contacted him to ask for forgiveness for postponing their wedding.
She said she's been wallowing in her grief ever since they split up.
The American-based model expressed guilt for her hasty choice to call off their wedding and apologised to her ex-fiance.
She assured the actor that her love for him has never wavered and that she will always hold a special place in her heart for him.
Acholonu expressed her regret to Ekubo's loved ones and hoped they would be able to forgive her due of her growth and realisation of her errors.
Acholonu captioned a selfie of herself with her ex-boyfriend, “Like our shirt says, Nothing makes sense when we’re apart @alexxekubo you still have my heart.”
“I miss you, I love you, and I’m truly sorry for all the hurt & pain you and your family went through with our breakup.
“My actions in how I handled things were out of my character. I should have controlled my emotions and not been so overreactive.
“I said too much; I did too much. Please forgive me. I’ve learned my lesson on how to handle situations better.
” I haven’t expressed myself properly. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable and say you, your family, & friends still mean the world to me.
“Losing you has felt like grief. Love heals. #FalexxForever.”
Alexx Ekubo popped the question to Acholonu in Los Angeles, California, in May 2021.
The actor posted a photo of himself and Fancy to his Instagram account to announce the news.
With the description, “I asked the love of my life @fancyacholonu to marry me…” Alexx uploaded a photo of himself proposing to his girlfriend.
In a subsequent post on her Instagram account, Acholonu confirmed Ekubo’s announcement by writing, “& I said YES to the Love of my life @alexxekubo.”
However, three months into their engagement, rumours began to circulate that the couple’s relationship was on the rocks after Fancy stopped following Alexx on Instagram and removed the page they had made to declare their love for one another publicly.
Fancy confirmed the split on her official Instagram page, asking Nigerians to respect her privacy after revealing that she had ended things with her fiancé.
She wrote, “Hey guys, I am writing to inform you that I have ended my relationship, engagement and I have called off the wedding with Alex Ekubo.
“I am aware this may be a shock to many people. I made the best decision for myself because it is important that everyone finds their happiness and lives in their truth.
“At this time, my family and I ask you to please respect our privacy. Thank you so much.”
