The National Population Commission (NPC) |
The 2023 housing and population census will be carried out in Adamawa, according to the National Population Commission (NPC), which says it would hire at least 26,000 ad hoc personnel there.
This information was provided in a Yola interview on Monday by Clifford Zira, the NPC federal commissioner in charge of Anambra.
According to Mr. Zira, the personnel will receive enough training on the processes and procedures needed for a legitimate, respectable, and acceptable exercise.
He said NPC would not give up on making the exercise a tremendous success and he kindly asked for the understanding and cooperation of all pertinent parties to ensure the conduct of accurate housing and population headcounts.
The NPC official mentioned that the commission recently convened a two-day localities forum workshop in order to finalise and present the list of locations chosen for the assignment to the grassroots.
“I urged the stakeholders to ensure that localities were not misrepresented from what has been given to them for the exercise,” Mr Zira said.
The commission is warming towards conducting the housing and population census in April 2023 to determine Nigeria’s population and housing data.
