The newly redesigned naira notes will be unveiled to the general public on November 23, 2022, according to a statement from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In response to questions from media at the monetary policy committee (MPC) meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, CBN governor Godwin Emefiele stated as much.
Emefiele announced the redesign of the naira on October 26 in order to control the money supply and aid security forces in preventing illicit financial movements.
The new N200, N500, and N1000 notes will go into circulation in the middle of December 2022, according to the governor of the top bank.
Emefiele stated on Tuesday that the new note would be "unveil and released" before December 15.
He announced that Buhari would unveil it tomorrow, 23 days earlier than planned.
