Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, stated on Tuesday that he was ready to work closely with the state assembly to carry out the five-point programme of his government.
When the governor and Timothy Owoeye, the current Speaker of the House of Assembly, met, the governor made this commitment.
At the celebration hosted in the governor's hometown of Ede, Adeleke reportedly defined himself as a man with a passion for the legislative, according to his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed.
In doing so, he insisted, he would be able to carry on the five commitments his administration had made to the residents of Osun State and take the region to new heights.
Adeleke praised the productive cooperation between the state legislature and the executive branch.
The governor spoke at the meeting and praised the legislature as an instrumental branch of government that helps ensure good governance, accountability, and leadership transparency.
There were prominent leaders from both branches of government present at the meeting.
The Speaker assured the governor that the legislature was ready to back the governor’s administration in its efforts to fulfil the promises it had made to the people of the state.
According to NAN, Adeleke, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Kola Adewusi, his deputy, were sworn in on Sunday as the new Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, respectively, succeeding Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.
