During a protest march in eastern Pakistan, a female journalist was killed when she was struck by a car driven by former prime minister Imran Khan.
Sadaf Naeem was struck by Mr Khan's truck, according to a tweet from Channel 5 that was published following the collision on Sunday night.
She reportedly tried to climb the truck to capture a sound bite from the politician when the event happened close to the eastern city of Lahore.
Initial information about the incident was hazy.
Following the disaster, Mr Khan announced the day's march toward Islamabad to be over and expressed his sympathies to the journalist's family.
Elections should be held quickly, according to the former prime minister and his followers.
Their march, which is due to recommence on Monday, is scheduled to reach Islamabad on November 4.
