President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged female presidential campaigners of the All Progressives Congress to work towards the victory of the party in the 2023 elections. The President, who called on Monday to inaugurate the APC women's team in Abuja, said the call has become imperative because there is no other choice but to win the APC election in the 2023 presidential election. Mr. Buhari, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, tasked the team members to take the party to the next level by developing and implementing an inclusive collective strategy for a smooth electoral victory.(See Buhari)
He described the inauguration of the APC Women's Presidential Campaign Committee as the most important part of the 2023 campaign. To this end, I call on all members of this committee to shoulder this great responsibility by demonstrating their selfless service to the APC.
" I am confident that this committee will take APC to greater heights by developing and implementing a collectively inclusive party strategy to ensure that PCS wins the 2023 elections because there is no other alternative but our victory," [/b] say, The chairman congratulated all the committee members and the party leadership. This is an appreciated move. I wish the team a successful season. He, however, cautioned that the teams must always be guided by the fact that their mandate will include the party's campaign in the various 774 local government areas of the Federal Government.
"The brief for the committee is very clear and time is not on your side. As this luncheon took place in Abuja, it must be remembered that the real work is far from Abuja.
"As the exercise has been carried out in more than 1,000 constituencies and 774 municipalities across the country, party loyalists have to make the case for our party candidates to their fellow citizens by articulating the country's vision and plans. "The movement should therefore resist the temptation to make it an Abuja event," he added.
The President also commended Nigerian women for their sacrifice and loyalty to the party. Throughout my political journey and as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, women have been my most loyal and supportive group. "Mission for a better Nigeria," he said.
Mr. Buhari, therefore, asked women to give the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, as well as other APC aspirants, the same support he has always enjoyed during and after the 2023 election. The President also instructed the Attorney General and the Attorney General, together with the Minister of Women's Affairs, to work closely with the Office of the First Lady and the National Assembly to ensure the passage of bills aimed at creating a level playing field for women.
