After returning on Thursday, Oct. 27, students at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) will begin the second semester's lectures on Nov. 2.
Following eight weeks of strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), PRIME 9JA ONLINE reports that the institution has started classes.
This was stated by the university in a statement released on Friday in Abeokuta and signed by Mr Omowon Agbotoba on behalf of Dr Bola Adekola, Deputy Registrar for Senate and Admissions.
The university also announced that its 71st inaugural lecture would take place on November 23 and that the university Senate had just adopted a revised academic calendar for the second semester of 2020–2021 during a meeting.
“Special Senate to consider first-semester examination result Dec. 2., 72nd inaugural lecture will hold Dec. 21. Second-semester lecture ends Jan. 13, 2023.
“Second-semester examinations begin Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, while second-semester examinations end by Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. Also, the 73rd inaugural lecture holds on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023.
“Special Senate to consider second-semester examination results and end of session Friday, March 10, 2023.
