The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) candidates for president and vice president in the upcoming 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, have received the support of former president Goodluck Jonathan.
The governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and a PDP team led by Okowa paid Jonathan a visit on Wednesday night in Abuja.
Jonathan referred to Delta State Governor Okowa as the country's new vice president in a video that went viral on social media.
He further stated that he was willing and ready to support and work for the success of the PDP in the 2023 elections, as he wished the party members success in all their endeavours “especially those who want to represent us from next year (2023).”
Raising Okowa’s hand, Jonathan called him “our incoming Vice President.”
On his part, Governor Okowa said it was important to seek the support of President Jonathan and with his blessing, the party was poised for victory in February.
