Nigeria's Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association has organised a national protest against theft of crude oil.
Festus Osifo, president of PENGASSAN, urged the government to hold accountable those in charge of guarding oil pipelines while speaking to press in Abuja.
The association additionally warned to stop providing its services if the government did not move swiftly to stop oil thieves, as the current situation already has an impact on its members who work for oil-producing enterprises that have been forced to close due to theft.
In order to act as a deterrence, the group encouraged the Federal Government to punish offenders.
