Daniel Akpeyi, a free agent, has joined Sekhukhune United of the South African Premier League.
The Nigerian goalkeeper agreed to a one-year deal with a one-year extension option.
At the end of July, Kaizer Chiefs, a different South African team, released the 36-year-old.
Since leaving Kaizer Chiefs, the seasoned goaltender has been working out independently with the assistance of TS Galaxy goalkeeper coach and fellow countryman Greg Etafia.
At Sekhukhune United, Akpeyi will compete with Toaster Nsabata of Zambia and Ali Bangare of the Ivory Coast for the top slot.
With six points from seven games, Sekhuhune United is presently holding down the 14th spot in the South Africa Premier League standings.
