The Katsina State Police Command has strengthened the restriction on motorcycle travel within the city limits from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
This was said in a statement made on Monday in Katsina by SP Gambo Isa, the command's spokeswoman.
He explained that the ban persisted from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in other Local Government Districts, particularly the frontline areas.
Governor Aminu Masari relaxed the restriction during Ramadan, despite the fact that the state administration had prohibited motorbike movements from the aforementioned time owing to security concerns.
The statement claims that the enforcement was required because of a recent security danger posed by terrorists and other criminals utilising motorcycles.
“I am directed to draw the attention of the general public that the ban on the movement of motorcycles from 10p.m-6a.m in Katsina city is still in force.
“While in the frontline LGAs from 6p.m to 6 a.m. It was temporarily lifted to ease movements during Ramadan.” the spokesperson said.
