Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has apologized to the organizers of Nigeria's prestigious music award, the Headies, following his disqualification.
Portable was nominated for Best Street Artist and Rookie of the Year at the award ceremony, along with Av, Fave, Magicx, and Ugocci.
Portable was disqualified as a nominee by the Headies because of how he drew attention from the Nigerian police and the general public.
The part of the statement says:
"We regret to announce that following numerous indicting statements made by Mr. Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as 'Portable,' and the incessant negative attention that Mr Okikiola has garnered from the Nigeria Police and the general public in recent times," The Headies organizers have decided to disqualify Mr Okikiola from being a nominee at the upcoming 15th Headies Awards."
On an Instagram video, the "Za-Zu" crooner apologizes to the Headies organizers and asks his fans to show their support by continuing to vote for him to receive the slated award nominations.

Portable also asked God to bless everyone who continues to show him love.
Previously, the controversial singer responded to his disqualification in an Instagram video, calling the award organizers' bluff.
"I am a light child." I have fame, wealth, automobiles, wives, and children. I am wealthy. Everywhere I go, people recognize me. "I don't regret what I did," he had stated.
Portable has always been in the news for the wrong reasons since achieving celebrity status.
