Transfer: Man United officially confirm Martinez's deal with a goalkeeper ready to leave Old Trafford

 Manchester United stated on Sunday that it has reached an agreement with Ajax to sign defender Lisandro Martinez.

Man United made the announcement via its website.

"Manchester United is thrilled to announce that the club has reached an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Argentine international defender Lisandro Martinez, subject to medicals, player terms being finalised, and UK visa requirements," read the statement. 

Matej Kovar, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, is expected to join Cheltenham Town on loan this season.

According to Gloucestershire Live, the 22-year-old goalkeeper will join League One Robins on July 25.

Kovar will be eligible for the season opener against Peterborough United the following Saturday.
