The minimum cut-off marks for universities were set at 140 at the 2022 Policy Meeting on Admissions in Abuja, while polytechnics and colleges of education have a minimum of 100.
Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, who announced the cut-off after votes by vice chancellors of universities, rectors of polytechnics, and provosts of colleges of education, saID the implication is that each institution has the right to set its own cut-off mark, even up to 220.
No one, however, will be permitted to score less than the agreed-upon minimum cut off marks of 100 for colleges of education, 100 for polytechnics, and 140 for universities.
The meeting also advocated for a review of admission criteria to give heads of tertiary institutions 10% admission discretion.
