Wives and girlfriends who enjoy sharing "everything" with their partners, particularly details about their female friends, have been addressed by Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, the wife of well-known comedian Basketmouth.
Elsie advised husbands and girlfriends to refrain from informing their partners in great detail about their female companions.
She urged that they should always follow the code of confidentiality regarding information shared by female friends and not divulge it to their spouses.
The businessperson emphasised the negative effects of disclosing excessive information to one's husband or boyfriend concerning female friends.
The female friends being discussed, in her opinion, will ultimately lose respect in the eyes of the spouse.
Hey guys," the three-parent mother said. This is for girlfriends and spouses who enjoy spilling all the beans to their partners. It's okay, but you guys need to calm down. You see, I love my spouse so much that I don't keep anything from him. Therefore, we don't hold secrets from one another. I tell my husband everything.
You can't believe anything you tell him. Not everything he needs to know is in there, especially with your female friends.
“Cos you know how girls like to talk a lot when they are together? It could be marital issues, relationship issues, general issues. And there are those friends that talk about everything because it makes them feel better.
She continued: “Now the thing is….Your husbands and boyfriends don’t need to know the secrets your girlfriends have confided in you.
“There’s no need to know that much. It’s okay to share the celebrations but not these things that should not be shared.
“Because you know what this does eventually? It tends to backfire. Because one day, you’ll just hear your husband say, ‘That girl, avoid her.’ Or you see him disrespecting her because of what you’ve told him. So ladies, learn to use your sieve. It’s one of the things you need to know.IIjust don’t share,” Elsie added.
